“Bag you Debris, before it hits the Sea”

The Lobster Foundation of Massachusetts (LFoM) is pleased to announce an updated phase of its marine debris prevention initiative, made possible through the generous support of the Bilezekian Family Foundation Inc.As part of this evolution, the campaign has been rebranded with a new message:
“Bag you Debris, before it hits the Sea”
This updated slogan reflects LFoM’s continued commitment to modern, effective, and inclusive outreach focused on reducing marine debris in Massachusetts coastal waters.
Building on years of successful outreach and collaboration with the commercial fishing community, this next phase enhances both messaging and materials to better engage commercial lobstermen, recreational fishermen, and coastal residents. The goal remains the same: to prevent marine debris at its source and protect the marine ecosystems that support our fisheries and coastal economy. This update includes:
  • A refreshed campaign brand and redesigned educational materials
  • Continued production and distribution of Boat Trash Bags designed for use at sea
  • Expanded outreach efforts across ports from Gloucester to Provincetown, MA
  • Strengthened education focused on responsible waste management and marine stewardship
Funding for this phase supports both the production of critical outreach tools and the modernization of educational materials to ensure the campaign remains relevant, accessible, and impactful across generations.
